I am a proud graduate of the Macon County School System. I must say that I received an excellent education all around from elementary to college, due in part to my parents stressing the importance of education and the excellent teachers and professors who taught me. Upon graduating from Macon County High, I immediately started college at Georgia Southwestern State University. I also attended Savannah State College and University. I received a B.S. in Computer Science, a M.S. in Special Education, and an Ed.S. in Teaching and Leading. I have been working in the field of education for 22 years. I love education, because it can take you to places you never imagined. Education builds confidence and gives you access to not any job, but the best job. And if you know me, I want my kids (my students) to have the best. So, no matter where they start with me, the finish will be stronger. I believe in education and success, and no one can convince me that the most severe student cannot learn, because if they are with me, they will be learning...Period. Education is the key to every unopened door and I am going to ensure that my students have a key. I want to thank my parents (who were so hard on me-stressing education, education!), my teachers (who ruled by the ruler-lol), my principals, girl scout leaders, 4-H leaders, band director, trio-coach, and everyone who I gave a hard time, because I wanted to do it my way, but you corrected me and ensured that I did it the right way. I am who I am because of you.
